Und zum Schluss lass uns noch gemütlich schlendern, immer mit der Ruhe nach griechischer Art! Nimm alle die Eindrücke dieser Stadt in Dir auf und versuche daraus jenen Zauber zu finden, der Pindar zum Ausruf bewegte: "oh fruchtbare und violett gekrönte Stadt der Göttin!" A salesman at Plaka At the Adrianou street you will find all this people waiting for interested tourists (and sometimes greeks). They seem to have the stoicism and the patience of ancient greek philosophs. |

Haggling buyers No joy like the joy of haggling! A greek doesn´t feel well on buying something without haggling over the price! And it is important to know that the sellers also expect it otherwise they feel disrespected :-) |

Newspaper readers Every day the same picture at the same time! As soon as the latest newspapers are delivered, all the kiosks are surrounded by people reading the first page comments. The own comments accompanied by loud loughers and sometimes rough expressions is a must :-) |

| Fussgänger und Fahrer WARNUNG: Dies ist ein vollkommen normales Bild in Athen! Es ist gerade "rot" für die Fussgänger! Also sei bitte jeden Moment wachsam auf der Strasse, ob als Fahrer oder als Fussgänger. Für den "Neuankömmling" sind Motorräder das grösste Risiko. |

Pedestrians and drivers WARNING: That´s a completely normal picture in Athens! It is just "red" for the pedestrians! So please be careful in every moment either as driver or as a pedestrian. For the "newcomer" in Athens are actually the motorcycles the greatest risk! |

On waiting One further characteristic of the athenians is the waiting! Waiting for the bus, waiting for the taxi, waiting in the authorities offices, waiting for the friend because he has overslept! |
| Siesta im Nationalgarten Ungefähr um 15:00 Uhr merkst Du, dass auf einmal das Leben in Athen wie in Zeitlupe abläuft! Es ist Zeit für die Siesta und ich empfehle Dir mitzumachen. Nicht nötig dabei ins Bett zu gehen! Gerade ein schattiges Plätzchen im Park, im Restaurant , oder sonstwo, genügt! |

Siesta in the National Garden Almost at about 3:00pm you will get aware of the fact that the life in Athens gets in slow motion at once! It is siesta time and I recommend you to participate in it. Not necessary to go to bed! Just a shadow place somewhere, in the garden, in the restaurant, it is enough! |
